Model overview based on user reviews
The Samsung 860 EVO SSD series is highly praised for its reliability, speed, and long service life. Users appreciate the high write and read speeds, with some reporting speeds of up to 560 MB/s. The SSDs are noted for their cool operation and silent performance, making them ideal for both home use and gaming. The 5-year warranty and the use of a Samsung MJX controller add to the product's appeal. While some users find the price a bit high, many believe it is justified given the quality and performance. However, there are a few complaints about the actual storage capacity being slightly less than advertised and occasional lags in certain applications. Overall, the Samsung 860 EVO is recommended for those seeking a durable and fast SSD, with many users preferring it over other brands for its consistent performance and reliability.

- high speed compared to HDD - system boot speed - 15 sec (was 1 min 20 sec), browser/this computer load speed - 1 sec (was from 10 sec to 1 min when cold) - browser, my computer, any windows open almost always in 1 sec - reliability (but time will tell, reviews were ok) - SATA 3.0 - only paperwork included in the package - lucky to have leftover screws from the PC assembly - if there's nowhere to attach it in the case, a special mount for 1-2k on AliExpress is needed (+ waiting) - a bit expensive (3k rubles would be optimal, but 4k is already a bit too much) |
Top-notch drive. For those who crave top speeds. If you've been puzzling over this like I did, I suggest not skimping on a drive. Alternatives costing 1000 UAH will be on a Silicon Motion controller without a buffer, and the speed will be weak. If you need speed, go for Samsung. If you need savings, then Crucial MX500. Forget about Goodram, Kingston, and Transcend. I don't understand why everyone is negative about Samsung; I believe buying a terabyte drive is clearly either for working with files, where a buffer is essential, or for games, which need to be installed. That's why the buffer is crucial, in my opinion, to maximize performance. The drive has longevity in usage and comes with a warranty. I believe paying an extra 500 UAH for a drive priced at 3500-4000 UAH is a tiny amount, yet you'll end up with a rocket. Speed Some guys who have watched reviews like "don't get Samsung, it's overpriced" might feel that smaller capacities like up to 512GB are that way, but when it comes to downloading to and from the terabyte versions quickly, as someone who owns a top PC with top-notch internet, I want to achieve maximum speeds in the process. |
Bought it just today, overall satisfied with the purchase, but there’s disappointment regarding lags, I expected more from this SSD. Low temperature (30 degrees) Beautiful numbers in the benchmark Warranty period Price (I don't know who complains about the price, but for a 5-year warranty period, the price is justified, better than getting a Chinese product for 2 months and for 1000 rubles cheaper) Lags (for some reason there are lags in the browser, although I rolled up a clean system, otherwise I didn’t notice any lags; it’s unknown what’s causing it, if anyone knows, please tell me) |
