Fast, neat, modern and securely protected professional-grade portable SSD with an impressive 1 terabyte of memory. Positioned by the manufacturer as an industry standard that can be relied upon by professional videographers and directors alike, the campaign stars Blackmagic Design CEO Grant Petty. The frame of the Samsung T7 Shield is covered with high-tech armor, under which additional heat-absorbing material is hidden, designed to reduce the load on the control controller.
The company claims that the SSD is subjected to strict strength tests, as a result of which it has been certified according to the military-industrial standard MIL-STD-810H and received a fairly high class of dust and moisture protection IP65. That is, in theory, it will withstand even a short-term immersion in a pool without losing data. For data transfer, the drive is equipped with a two-way USB connector with a 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface, which simplifies connection to most modern portable and stationary equipment.
The sequential read/write speed declared by the manufacturer is 1050/1000 MB/s: this should be enough to work directly with projects in conditional Ableton or shoot 12K video on the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro camera. In addition to the Windows platform, the manufacturer promises full compatibility with a variety of types of mobile and desktop gadgets running the MacOS, iOS and Android operating systems. The only condition is to support the appropriate version of the USB interface and use the current cable. The manufacturer places special emphasis on the last factor, since some users were dissatisfied with the speed of the drive because they used cables of dubious quality from unknown manufacturers.
