I chose a drive for the Mac Book Pro '12, because it works slowly compared to modern SSDs. I was surprised by the extremely fast installation. Spent no more than 5 minutes of time. The speed of writing and reading has increased almost 5 times. Therefore, the purchase was 100% justified. Keep in mind that if you install OS 10.10, you will have to enable Trim support using a third-party application. Yabloko has disabled the technology for illegal discs. I installed the disk on the Mac to make the device work faster. Tests show about 500 Mb/s, which is just great. I use two operating systems in parallel, because... For some tasks you need Windows. The system rated the performance with a maximum score of 7.9. Any programs run faster than before. I also have Windows 10, which turns on in 10 seconds. The operating system began to load much faster. I would like to note the extended warranty of 5 years. It’s nice that you can return the disk to the service for free if something happens to it during this time. The cost of a disk is now quite high, but the dollar exchange rate is to blame. The equipment is extremely affordable, apparently to reduce the cost. The package contains only the disk and software. But I didn’t need any adapters. The laptop got a second life. In fact, I might have even overdone it. I'm not sure if the performance of my Intel Core i3 is enough to fully leverage this SSD. Applications that used to take about 20-30 seconds to start now load almost instantly. The OS boots up in about 10 seconds along with everything set to auto-start. Tests show a read speed of 527 MB/s and a write speed of 511 MB/s. I'm glad I took the advice and didn't replace the laptop, just swapped out the hard drive for an SSD. I've been using it for a few weeks now. And I understand that if you don't push the SSD too hard, it will last for many years. Well-known brand. Excellent operating speed. The cost of the product is high, although it is justified by the cool write and read speeds. Samsung uses a new type of memory that contributes to good performance. The Samsung 850 EVO is the fastest 2.5" TLC SSD on the market. And they are not much more expensive than solid-state drives with low speed. The 850 EVO series includes 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, 2TB and 4TB models. That is, if you have a great desire and sufficient finances, you can assemble a PC with a capacious disk subsystem without a buzzing HDD at all.

Under the hood, the 850 EVO has all the components of Samsung's own production: multi-layer 40nm 3D TLC flash memory, MGX smart controller and DDR3 RAM cache. By analogy with other TLC drives, the speed of the 850 EVO also drops when writing large files: from 500 to 300 Mbps (competitors have up to 70 Mbps). The read speed is stable 550 MB / s (the SATA III interface simply does not miss more).
Five hassle-free years
Of course, the high write speed, even taking into account drawdowns, and the selection of all components from the same brand do not cancel the main drawback of TLC memory — relatively fast wear and tear (theoretically, only 1000 rewrite cycles against 3000 for more expensive MLC memory).
