At first glance, both externally and internally, the third generation of Apple smartwatches differs little from its predecessors. A new dual-core S3 processor has appeared, the amount of RAM has slightly increased, the Bluetooth version has been updated (note: now 4.2), a barometric altimeter has appeared, and that would seem to be all. But in fact, Troika has seriously strengthened the company's position in the smartwatch market thanks to the use of an LTE modem and support for virtual SIM cards in the eSIM format.
By the standards of 2021, Apple Watch 3 will be a worthy choice for those people who first of all need high-quality smartwatches for training, and then for everything else. They can boast of all the usual features for which many appreciate Apple watches, including water protection (IP68), heart rate monitor, accelerometer, gyroscope, speaker, microphone and NFC linked to the Apple Pay payment service.
As before, the third-generation Apple Watch allows you to always stay connected by taking calls or answering a message using dictation and Siri. At the same time, they do not have the usual compass, altimeter, ECG or sensor that signals a drop in heart rate. And the amount of memory in the regular version is limited to 8 GB, which is why you have to reset data to update the OS.
By tradition, the third generation of Apple smartwatches is represented by a pack of diverse 38- and 42-millimetre models that differ both externally and internally. Over the entire life cycle of the troika, Apple has released five different modifications of these watches: Classic, Sport, Nike, Hermes, Edition. Versions with a telephone module are marked Cellular in the name.
