The Taiwanese manufacturer Apacer, which many perceive exclusively as a manufacturer of flash drives and RAM modules, has been actively expanding its presence in the solid state drive market in recent years. But unlike Samsung, Kingston and Transcend, the guys from Apacer decided to focus exclusively on low-cost drives.

For example, for the M.2 series, TLC Apacer assembles relatively simple, but at the same time quite fast and voluminous M.2. SSD based on TLC class memory. Most models of the Premier series are simple memory sticks with low-cost controllers, without additional cooling radiators, lighting and other amenities. And their speed performance is limited to the same 500 – 550 MB / s as conventional SATA SSDs. All this makes Apacer's M.2 drives an interesting candidate for replacing an outdated system hard drive in a laptop or home computer.

Between 2017 and 2022, Apacer released about five drives, only three of which are actively selling at the end of 2021. All of them are made in the M.2 form factor and are connected to the corresponding slot. The difference lies in the data exchange interface - some of the drives use the PCI-E 3.0 bus, the other works on SATA 3. Because of this, first-class drives turned out to be faster and more expensive than SATA models. As for the amount of memory, most models are available in 120, 240 and 480 GB versions. Less often on the market there are variations with a volume of 1 TB.
