— bluetooth module of the 5th generation of this technology; so far, such modules support only version 5.0, but more advanced standards may soon appear.

Anyway, such devices have all the capabilities of Bluetooth v.4 (see the relevant paragraph), as well as several improvements in addition to this. So, for Bluetooth low energy version 5.0, two additional modes of operation are provided: increased range (with a decrease in speed) and increased speed (respectively, due to a decrease in range).

Of course, to use all the features of a particular version of Bluetooth, it must be supported not only by the gadget itself but also by the smartphone/tablet to which it is connected.
