The inside of Crosshair laptops plainly says that they are designed primarily for budget-minded users looking for a modern and productive gaming laptop that will not slow down and lag at 1080p resolution. The role of the motor is usually played by an Intel Core i7 processor, the basic equipment, as a rule, includes 8 or 16 GB of DDR4 / DDR5 RAM, and a smart M.2 PCI-E 4.0 4x class SSD with storage is usually blown away for system performance and storage of the game library for 512 or 1024 GB. Now for the most interesting - the choice of video cards depends on the specific model - in some places it is an old and modest GeForce RTX 3050, in other cases a much more modern and powerful RTX 4070 with DLSS 3.0 support and a more advanced ray tracing system.

Unlike other MSI gaming laptops, the Crosshair series does not have any common reference point and a distinct individual style in terms of visuals. The 2021 Crosshair models were built on almost the same chassis as other mid-range laptops in the MSI Thin series. For the 2022 Crosshair laptops, Taiwanese designers have taken liberties with their color palette, mixing blacks and yellows profusely, and swapping solid-color backlighting for Spectrum RGB backlighting. Well, the 2023 models again rolled back to the original minimalistic settings, and the overall severity is diluted only by the same Spectrum keyboard backlight.

Finally, it should be noted that when designing Crosshair laptops, Taiwanese engineers primarily sought high performance in games, and everything else is a makeweight. Therefore, most representatives of this series have far from the top-end IPS screens with a high refresh rate (at least 144 Hz), but with rather modest color reproduction and a small margin of brightness. They also have mediocre autonomy, and the cooling system makes a noticeable noise under load. Otherwise, this is a pure middle class with support for Wi-Fi 6, PCI-E 4.0 and additional slots for installing a second RAM bar and auxiliary storage. In fact, it is a direct competitor to Asus TUF, Gigabyte Gaming, HP Victus and Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming gaming laptops.
