In 2021, MSI has modernized its leopard-print laptop family, repositioning them along the way. If earlier devices of previous generations emphasized power and profit, the updated MSI GP66 Leopard and GP76 Leopard models have noticeably increased in price and could compete with the flagships of the Asus ROG Zephyrus and Acer Predator Triton caliber in terms of the overall level of equipment.

Devices manufactured in 2019–2020 most often use a bundle of an 8-thread Core i5 processor, the amount of RAM is in the range from 8 to 16 GB, and arrays of SSDs for installing the system and HDD for storing the entire collection of games also came across as storage. The most popular graphics card option is the GTX 1660 Ti. Following the traditions of MSI's gaming division, almost all "leopards" are equipped with gaming keyboards from the Swedish wizards Steel Series (with solid or complex RGB backlighting), proprietary Cooler Boost cooling system and dedicated LAN controllers, all the necessary video outputs.

In the devices of 2021, everything is an order of magnitude more serious: a Core i7 processor, at least 16 GB of RAM, a 1 terabyte reactive SSD and an extremely serious next-generation graphics card (GeForce RTX 3060/3070), which easily delivers from 60 to 90 FPS in any demanding projects and will allow you to play in 4K resolution when you connect an external monitor. In comparison to this, cooperation with Microsoft Azure Cloud looks unusual. The new version of the beloved MSI Centre software has an AI that has been trained for a long time to understand user interaction scenarios with a laptop. In the background, it will optimize system performance (boosting CPU frequencies, fan speeds, etc.), eliminating the need for manual adjustments.
