Laptops Asus series ROG Strix (gaming)
Asus ROG Strix
ROG (Republic Of Gamers) is the top gaming series from Asus, which recently combines several gaming areas ROG Strix, ROG Strix Scar and ROG Strix HERO. The regular ROG Strix is a versatile laptop, while the ROG Hero is designed for moba games like Dota 2, and the ROG Scar is designed for shooter fans. The difference lies in the little things like the backlighting of the keyboard, which highlights the keys commonly used in this genre. However, after the global update of the series in 2019, the difference between ROG Strix laptops has blurred.
The essence of the ROG series does not change — these are stylish, thin and modern gaming laptops that do not accept compromises. The components here are elite, and the equipment is state-of-the-art without regard to the price. They always use the latest Core i7/Core i9 caliber processors and RTX 2060/3070 graphics cards at the time of release. The amount of RAM in some cases can reach 64 GB, but more adequate options with 16 GB are more common. It is difficult to say when a game will be released that can bring such a bundle of iron to its knees. Moreover, 4K displays have not yet been delivered to laptops, and for Full HD resolution, the power of a conditional RTX 3070 graphics card is excessive. Freezes, drawdowns and lags are unfamiliar words for the owner of a ROG Strix laptop.
But not iron alone. Most members of the family are equipped with advanced gaming displays that can delight gamers, photographers and artists alike. Asus was one of the first to use expensive IPS-matrices with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and natural colour reproduction, covering most of the sRGB and Adobe RGB colour spectrum. Previously, gaming laptops used fast VA matrices with smaller viewing angles.
Other features of the ROG Strix series include efficient cooling systems, comfortable optical-mechanical keyboards, multi-channel audio with Dolby Atmos, gigabit LAN ports, USB-C charging, the latest versions of HDMI interfaces, and spectacular RGB lighting for the case and keyboard. Price tags depend on the configuration and range from 1200 to 2000 dollars. Less often come across options for the most demanding for $ 3,000 – 3,500 dollars.
