— USB-C is a universal connector relatively recently created, designed for use in both desktop and portable computers. It is slightly larger than microUSB, features a convenient reversible design (it doesn't matter which side you plug in the connector), and allows for enhanced power delivery and a range of special functions. Moreover, this connector is standard in the Thunderbolt version v3 interface and can technically be used for other interfaces. Thus, in some laptops, USB-C has a combined purpose — see "Alternate Mode" for more details. Additionally, in some laptops (mostly the most compact ones), USB-C may also be used for charging the device's own battery. As for the specific USB-C 20Gbps version, it allows for connection speeds of 20 Gbps. Such ports are still rare in laptops, and their number usually does not exceed 1 — this is because, for most peripheral devices, slower (and less expensive) versions of USB-C are generally sufficient.
