The Host Memory Buffer (HMB) feature uses PCI Express DMA (Direct Memory Access), allowing SSDs to share a portion of the DRAM in the PC system, rather than requiring the SSD to have its own DRAM.
A compact SSD drive from Samsung with an optimal storage capacity for most users of 1 TB. It weighs only 8 grams and has compact dimensions (22x80 mm), making it suitable for installation in slim laptops and PCs with limited space inside the case. The drive is more of a mid-level product, unlike the top-tier Samsung EVO series SSDs, and can effectively serve as a system drive, game library, or high-performance storage in a workstation for photo, audio, and video editing.
It is manufactured using high-quality 96-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory, and combined with a PCIe 3.0 4x bus and Samsung's proprietary Pablo controller, it delivers high-speed performance under any usage scenario. All these factors allowed Samsung engineers to make the most of the PCIe 3.0 bus bandwidth. This has resulted in impressive sequential write speeds up to 3000 MB/s and read speeds up to 3500 MB/s. Furthermore, the high IOPS rates (0.5 million operations per second) significantly enhance the device's performance when processing large volumes of data, such as copying numerous small files at once. Consequently, Samsung has developed a fairly fast, compact, and simple drive that serves as a simplified and more affordable alternative to the EVO lineup.

I killed half a day on this ssd, and did not understand what the problem was. First, I connected it to the first m.2 1xSATA / PCIe 4x slot and the PC refused to see it in every possible way. I climbed in the BIOS, and in the device manager, and downloaded the official drivers, and cleaned the contacts with alcohol, and disconnected all the sata cables. Nothing helped, the disk was not detected and got very hot, but when I moved it to the second m.2 1xPCI-E 4x slot, which does not have a sata subscript, everything worked. I don't even have any idea what the problem is, my motherboard is Gigabyte B560M DS3H V2. High speed It gets very hot and does not work if it is not connected there (I connected it to the desired slot m.2, it is not realistic to confuse it with a Wi-Fi connector). Putting in a laptop of these 2 1tb with retail in piv rock, one pid vindusoftigri, the other pid different trash, a robot of satisfaction. The second advantage is that an SSD drive with an NVMe interface does not occupy SATA 3 ports, if yours, like mine, are all already occupied. The third advantage is the lightness of this hard drive, weighing only 8 grams, which significantly reduces the weight of your entire computer case. I consider the temperature to be the first disadvantage, the second is, of course, that the disk has an overwrite limit, and the third is the price for the amount of memory. As of 02/07/2022, an SSD drive from Samsung with a capacity of 500 GB costs a little more than 6,000 rubles, for example, for the same price you can buy a hard drive on the SATA 3 interface with a capacity of up to 2 Terabytes with a rotation speed of 7200 rpm and even 3 Terabytes with a speed of 5400 rpm . |
