Fitbit's Sense series features mostly stylish, well-protected, and highly sophisticated smartwatches that compete with the Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch, and other premium smartwatches. They are protected from accidental water ingress, equipped with a colorful AMOLED screen and can receive calls from a smartphone connected to the watch. All representatives of this series run Fitbit OS and are equipped with modern Bluetooth modules for effective pairing with a smartphone.

If we compare the Sense watch with the slightly more affordable Fitbit Versa models, we will see that the Sense can measure ECG, support many more different sports modes (with a Fitbit Premium subscription), and are equipped with a barometer and altimeter. Otherwise, these are typical premium smartwatches that can carry out comprehensive measurements of a wide variety of physical indicators, support contactless payment, have serious navigation tools (GPS, aGPS, GLONASS) and can completely replace any popular fitness tracker.

By the end of 2023, 2 watch models were released in the Sense series - the original Sense 2020, and the upgraded Sense 2, which Google introduced in the winter of 2023. Sense 2 adds a continuous electrodermal skin activity sensor (GSR), which measures the level of emotional arousal associated with increased activity of the sweat glands, allowing for more precise and consistent changes in stress levels. In addition, the watch provides continuous heart rate monitoring combined with activity, stress and sleep tracking. Google also promised to add support for the Google Wallet payment system and Google Maps.
