The fifth iteration of the most popular fitness tracker with things that are mandatory for the Charge series, such as a pedometer, a built-in trainer, a smart alarm clock, a women's calendar and a comprehensive system of sensors for tracking the body's physical indicators. The model is a representative of the legendary Charge fitness series, which at one time set the fashion for smart gadgets for athletes.
Compared to its predecessor, Charge 5 finally has a bright and colorful AMOLED display (1.04-inch diagonal) with touch controls, Gorilla Glass 3 protection and Always-on function. Plus, the Fitbit Pay payment service is now supported. It should also be noted that the quality of sensors has increased and the ability to monitor certain physical indicators around the clock has been added.
In particular, in the fifth version of Charge, it became possible to monitor heart rate, sleep and blood oxygen saturation levels (SpO2). The most interesting new product is the EDA sensor for measuring the electrodermal activity of the skin, which allows you to constantly record the level of stress by monitoring the activity of the sweat glands. Separately, it is worth noting the updated Fitbit Premium service, which can adapt the level of physical activity depending on the user’s overall activity level, sleep quality and stress level.
Fitbit says the updated trainer will improve training and recovery performance. Naturally, Fitbit Charge 5 can work in tandem with a smartphone (note: Android OS and iOS are supported), displaying notifications about incoming calls and messages. The manufacturer promises a month of battery life on a single charge in standard mode, or up to 7 days of operation in active mode with constant use of GPS, Bluetooth and NFC. The bracelet is available in black, silver and gold colors.
