A mixture of a fitness tracker and a smartwatch with features characteristic of both types of devices. With the family of "smart" watches, the gadget has in common a small touch screen, however, not a colour one, but a monochrome one. In addition to the ability to control tap on the screen, the user has the right to use three mechanical keys to navigate through the menu and select the required parameters.
Fitbit Surge is equipped with a GPS module, an optical heart rate monitor and an accelerometer. The readings measured by these sensors are collected together in the Fitbit proprietary application. Additional fitness tracker functionality includes sleep monitoring (no smart alarm function), duplicating smartphone notifications, and support for music control. In the active GPS tracking mode, the battery of the wearable gadget will lose its charge in 10 hours, and with normal use, the bracelet can go without recharging for a week.
