CPU cooling

— any type of cooling system can be used for CPUs, except for fans (see "Type"), however, coolers are the most popular in this case — they are relatively simple, compact and inexpensive, but at the same time quite effective. Radiators are used extremely rarely — only for chips with modest performance and low heat dissipation; and water cooling, on the contrary, is intended primarily for powerful and “hot” CPUs.Note that in modern processor coolers, the cooling unit (radiator with a fan) is most often made separately from the substrate in contact with the chip and is connected to it with heat pipes. At the same time, the most popular is the so-called tower structure, with a lateral direction of blowing — for more details, see "Blowing the air flow"; and in some advanced models of "towers" there may be two (see "Fan").
