RGB backlight

— the simplest, historically the first kind of multi-colour illumination based on three basic colours — red, green and blue (Red, Green, Blue — hence "RGB").

The key difference between such systems and more advanced ARGBs is more modest colour selection options — RGB backlighting usually supports only a few basic shades (up to a dozen at best). This is due to the fact that multi-coloured LEDs in such systems either do not have dimming at all, or it is extremely limited — at the level of one or two intermediate levels between turning off and full power. Nevertheless, even this functionality provides quite extensive options for customizing the appearance of the cooling system, and also allows you to apply lighting synchronization (see "Backlight"). At the same time, RGB systems are simpler and cheaper than ARGB, and therefore they are much more common.
