Component input

— the most advanced analogue video input available today. Component connection is made using three separate wires, usually through three RCA (tulip) connectors; the video signal components are separated in special way between these three wires. This reduces susceptibility to interference and achieves high bandwidth, which, in turn, makes the component connection the champion in image quality among analogue standards and allows you to work even with HD resolutions. But the transmission of sound through such connection is not provided.

Note that component connectors are almost never found in computer video cards, but they are very popular in video equipment — both modern and completely outdated. So it makes sense to specifically look for monitor with such an input if its use is not limited to computer (or if the screen is initially needed for an external video device — TV tuner, Blu-ray player, information system, etc.).
