PLS matrix type

— technology for creating LCD matrix, designed to provide high quality colour reproduction; in fact — one of the versions of the IPS standard (see the relevant paragraph), developed and promoted by Samsung. The manufacturer claims a number of advantages over IPS screens, in particular, higher pixel density, brightness and contrast, as well as reduced power consumption. However, the actual characteristics of PLS (as well as IPS) can be different, often depending on the price category of the monitor.
