A bright staffer to replace the standard "whales", covering the popular range of focal lengths of 28-70 mm. The model spied on the optical design of a successful specimen from the artistic Art-line — the Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN Art lens. The manufacturer promises comparable image quality with minimal distortion, distortion and aberration. Schematically, the internal design of the lens consists of 16 elements in 12 groups, among them two FLD, two SLD and three aspherical lenses.

The 9-blade rounded aperture on the Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary contributes to beautiful bokeh. The most important plus in the karma of the model is the constant high aperture of f / 2.8, regardless of the chosen focal length. The lens is focused on sharpness from a distance of 19 cm at the short end and up to 38 cm at the telephoto zoom position. Aiming at shooting objects in automatic mode is provided by a tenacious and quiet step-type focus drive. On store shelves, the model is found in versions for Sony E-mount and Leica L-mount mounts (the latter is used on board Leica and Panasonic mirrorless cameras).
