the "cannon" from Sigma is a great reason to "shoot" at long range. The lens covers a wide range of focal lengths from 100-400mm and is available in versions for Nikon F, Canon EF and Sigma SA mounts. Optically, the model is based on 21 elements, which are combined under the wing of 15 groups (including a quartet of SLD elements to reduce chromatic aberrations). In close proximity to the optical design are the ring autofocus motor HSM and the optical stub.

The whole thing is assembled in a case with dimensions of 86x182 mm and a weight of about 1.2 kg. With an increase in the zoom ratio, the so-called “trunk” extends from the front of the lens. At the same time, at long distances, the Sigma 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM is darker than at short distances — the maximum aperture of the lens is directly “tied” to the set focal length value and ranges from f / 5 to f / 6.3. The telephoto is offered in a dust- and splash-proof design, and a special water-repellent coating is applied to its front lens (67 mm in diameter) “from the factory”.
