EMMC storage laptops
eMMC (built-in)
— laptops with eMMC solid state memory.This type of storage was originally used in smartphones and tablets. Compared to an SSD (see the relevant paragraph), on the one hand, it has lower cost and power consumption, on the other hand, it has worse speed and reliability indicators. In addition, such drives are usually made built-in and do not require replacement or upgrade. Therefore, eMMC-based laptops are rare these days, mostly transformers and 2-in-1 models (see Device type), for which energy efficiency is more important than speed.
