Without a doubt, a cult line, which is equally loved by musicians, audiophiles, and ordinary music lovers. If you open any top studio headphones, there is a 99% chance that you will meet the Beyerdynamic DT 990 or their counterparts DT 880 and DT 770 Pro.

There are, in fact, two reasons for love, but they literally outshine the sun. Firstly, they are made in Germany. The quality of the materials is impeccable, with a steel headband, aluminium fasteners and cups made of wear-resistant plastic. The bowls sit comfortably, the ear pads tightly cover the ears, providing high-quality noise insulation. What you need for the studio. The second reason for love is, in fact, sound. Unlike other boring and analytical monitor headphones, the Beyerdynamic DT models play lively, cheerful and rollicking. The frequency response is moderately smooth and honest, but the character is rather hi-fi, so listening to music in them is as pleasant as working.

The main stars of this series are closed DT 770, semi―open DT 880 and fully open DT 990. All of them can boast of a practical design and a unique sound of its kind. Over the years, Beyerdynamic has updated this series several times, releasing high- and low-resistance versions for smartphones, as well as several models with wireless connectivity.

And in 2015, Beyerdynamic announced the reboot of the DT studio line and introduced a change to the oldies in the face of the DT 1990 and DT 1770 Pro models. The new products have retained the best features of their predecessors and have become better in literally everything ― from case materials to sound detail and extended frequency range. However, the price tags have almost tripled. But what will you not do in search of the perfect instrument in the studio?
