30 years ago, inspired by the success of high-impedance headphones of the DT 770 PRO 250 Ohm series, Beyerdynamic continued its victorious march, expanding the line with 80 and 32-ohm models. It happened back in 2012, but the series does not cease to be relevant to this day.
Time-tested quality
DT 770 PRO 32 Ohm are designed to work with smartphones and portable audio players. They are made in Germany, the quality of materials and assembly are impeccable and they serve without problems for several years, as time shows. In terms of ergonomics, everything is also on top. The cups sit comfortably, the ear cushions tightly cover the ears, providing high-quality noise isolation. Ear pads can be changed, ordered optionally, and it is better to do it right away in order to have a pair in reserve.
The non-removable cable upset a little, but otherwise, there were no complaints about it. Twisted, of sufficient length (3 m), with a gold-plated jack and a 6.35 mm threaded adapter. On the street with this, of course, you won’t walk much, it’s heavy, and it will sag. But just right for home use. Since the first high-impedance DT 770 PROs were designed as studio monitors, there was no need to make them foldable, and so they have remained. But a cloth cover was added to the kit.
Sound with 30 years of experience
As for the sound, Beyerdynamic did not invent anything here. They left a flat, close to perfect frequency response and a wide range ranging from 5 to 35,000 Hz. What can be heard there at 5 Hertz or after 25,000, we do not know, but the sound in the headphones is very good, no doubt. Everything is legible, clear, balanced, does not mix into porridge, and there is also volume.
As a result, for 200 USD we get an almost perfect version of low-impedance headphones, although not as spectacular in appearance as the same Marshall Monitor, but guaranteed to be comfortable and with excellent sound. A legend available in all guises.
