Headphones on the neck

 

— the presence in the headphones of a special device for fixing on the neck.

Such a device can have a different design: in some models it is a rigid hoop, shaped like a horseshoe, in others it is a thickened cable connecting both headphones. Anyway, this function is relevant only for in-ear models and earbuds with wireless connectivity (see "Connection type"). It allows the device to be securely held around the neck and reduces the risk of losing it. At the same time, the fastening on the neck does not interfere with wearing hats and complex hairstyles; and compared to a rigid shackle (see “Design”), it puts less pressure on the skin and is often more comfortable to use. Also note that some models may be provided with magnets that allow you to “blind” the headphones taken out of your ears together, turning the structure into a ring; such magnets further reduce the risk of losing "ears".
