I evaluate the headphones from the perspective of playing the electric guitar. Comfortable fit, large and very soft earpads, you can work for a long time without getting tired. The long cord allows you to move away from the table and play the instrument without the cord becoming taut. On the DT 770 PRO models with 250 Ohm impedance, the cable is coiled. Sufficient sensitivity of 96 dB for 80 Ohm headphones can easily be powered by USB sound cards and smartphones; I have a Steinberg UR22mkII. The characteristics are not flat, with certain features, not to be confused with shortcomings, as each brand adds its own flavor. Great headphones! The sound is beyond praise, amazingly smooth frequency response. All frequencies are detailed, and the clear, velvety bass is especially pleasing. For the price, perhaps the best option. For that kind of money, you simply cannot find such sound. This applies to the entire DT 770 PRO range The most comfortable velor ear pads allow you to listen to material for hours without discomfort to your ears and head. Excellent frequency response. The Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro is considered a true classic and one of the best full-size closed-back headphones. If you open any top studio models, then with a probability of 99% you will see the DT 770 Pro there. Or her brothers DT 880 and DT 990 Pro. They earned cult status thanks to the combination of indestructible construction and moderately honest, but at the same time lively and assertive sound.
Made in Germany
Made in Germany, the quality of materials and assembly are impeccable and have been trouble-free for decades. In terms of ergonomics, everything is also on top. The cups sit comfortably, the ear cushions tightly cover the ears, providing high-quality noise isolation. Ear cushions can be changed, ordered optionally, and it is better to do it right away in order to have a pair in reserve. The only pity is that the cable cannot be disconnected if necessary, and the cups do not rotate and do not fold. It can be seen that they were designed exclusively with an eye on studio work, and listening to music turned out to be a nice bonus.
Monitor sound, but not boring
In terms of sound, here Beyerdynamic remained true to their signature sound: detailed, natural and emotional. These are not exactly “dry studio” headphones, Beyerdynamic even in professional models leaves room for “melomania”. Therefore, they are also suitable for the studio, since everything is clearly audible on the recording, and for home use, since the sound is still “tinted” and far from sterile.
