Devices corresponding to this level are able to withstand full immersion under water, but for a short time (up to half an hour) and at a shallow depth (up to 1 m). Specific restrictions on these indicators may be different, they should be clarified separately. However, anyway, this level is sufficient not only for amateur swimming (with your head above the water), but also for sports styles (crawl, butterfly), where the head is immersed in water — except that for some models you will have to take into account the time limit for staying in the water.

Note that instead of the letter X in the marking of such headphones, there may be another number describing the resistance to dust and foreign objects. In such cases, a moisture resistance level of 7 is combined with a dust resistance level of at least 5 (it is allowed to get inside a small amount of dust that does not affect the operation of the device), but more often 6 (complete dust tightness). Specifically, the designation with the letter X (IPX7) means that this model has not been tested for dust resistance and has been certified only for moisture resistance. However, even this designation indicates good protection against dust, since a high level of water protection means a tightly closed case.
