— a remote control allows you to change the settings of the robot at a distance and, in most cases, also directly control its movement, directing it in one direction or another.Almost all modern robot vacuum cleaners are controlled remotely in one way or another (the only exceptions are the simplest low-cost models of the “turn on and forget” format). However, such control can be carried out not only from the classic remote control but also from a smartphone (or another mobile gadget). The second option is considered more advanced. It gives more options. However, the traditional remote control has its advantages. Firstly, it does not require any additional settings: you do not need to install a special application or fiddle with connecting devices to each other. Just turn on the vacuum cleaner and remote control. Secondly, there is no need to look for a compatible smartphone or another compatible gadget - everything you need to work is immediately included in the kit. Thirdly, the remote control is simply cheaper. True, such control usually only works within the line of sight (similar to remotes for the TV, air conditioners, etc.); however, this cannot be called a serious disadvantage.
Also note that some robot vacuum cleaners from this category also allow control from a smartphone. This point should be clarified separately.
