Cyclone system

— DDust collector based on a cyclone (bagless) type air cleaner.

The cyclone usually has the form of a plastic bowl of a special shape, often with transparent walls. The principle of operation of such systems is next: the airflow entering the bowl is twisted into a spiral, the centrifugal force throws the collected contaminants out of the vortex, and they settle at the bottom of the tank. One of the main advantages of this option is the ease of cleaning: just turn the container over and the contents pour out of it without additional effort. And if desired, the dust collector can be easily washed. In addition, suction power is practically independent of the degree of filling of the bowl.

The capacity of cyclones is generally somewhat lower than that of bags, but this point is generally not fundamental - given the mentioned ease of cleaning. But the unequivocal disadvantages of this type of dust collector are somewhat higher cost, relatively low efficiency in capturing fine dust, as well as lower net power of the vacuum cleaner with the same engine power. In addition, the cyclones fully function only in a vertical position or close to it. If it deviates from it, the efficiency of the dust collector may noticeably decrease (which, in particular, accelerates the clogging of additional filters).

Note that the cyclone can also be combined with other types of dust collectors - a bag or an aquafilter. The second option is not included in this paragraph - it belongs only to the “aquafilter” category (and is also described in the help there). As for the combination of cyclones with bags, this equipment allows you to select the type of dust collector for the particular situation. For example, bags are well suited for collecting a large amount of fine dust, and cyclones are more convenient when working with relatively large debris - in particular, during “duty” cleaning when there is not much dirt accumulated.
