Built-in battery

— battery power provides the vacuum cleaner with maximum mobility: the movement of the unit is not limited by the length of the power cord, and the presence of sockets nearby is not required at all. On the other hand, models with such a power supply are heavier and more expensive than purely mains vacuum cleaners with similar characteristics. In addition, their operation time is limited by the battery charge, and it takes quite a lot of time and a power source (usually the same socket) to replenish the energy supply. The latter, however, can be compensated in two ways. So, some cordless vacuum cleaners also allow connection to an outlet or a car cigarette lighter - up to the ability to work and charge at the same time. And in some units (mainly for industrial use) standard detachable batteries for power tools are used, and a dead battery can be quickly replaced with a fresh one. However, both options are the exception rather than the general rule.

In light of all this, battery power is predominantly used in vacuum cleaners where portability and battery life are of key importance, in particular in most handheld machines (any speciality) and upright with handheld models, as well as in all robots (see “Product type ). But more traditional units - conventional, industrial and workshop - are extremely rarely equipped with batteries: these types of vacuum cleaners are most often used close to sockets, and their high power requires capacious, heavy and bulky batteries.
