It is traditional for vacuum cleaners and the most common type of cleaning among them: the unit draws in the air with dust and small debris and passes it through a filter system that traps contaminants. This format of work is not as effective as wet cleaning, but it has several other advantages. Firstly, the process itself is as simple as possible; there is no need to bother with pouring/draining water, wetting a rag, etc. Secondly, some types of floor coverings and other materials do not tolerate wet cleaning, and sometimes this procedure does not make sense. Thirdly, the vacuum cleaners themselves are as simple and inexpensive as possible.
