Premium vacuum cleaner

The German manufacturer of premium household appliances Miele offers an expensive, but high-quality robot vacuum cleaner that can cope with all types of flooring — from parquet and laminate to carpets with thick pile. The case has a round shape and a height of 85 mm, which allows the device to climb under beds and tables, and thanks to the wheels, the device easily overcomes obstacles up to 17 mm high.

On top of the case is a touch screen display, which displays the time and selected parameters. There are also several control methods: buttons, remote control or through an application on a smartphone or tablet. Here you can set a cleaning schedule, change settings, view the route, etc. Unfortunately, you cannot set virtual boundaries through the application — for this, a special magnetic tape was put in the box, which is designed to limit the area. You can simply put it or stick it, but if the stock in the kit is not enough or the tape is lost, you will have to fork out for another one. Of course, it would be more convenient to set zones in the application.

Quality cleaning

The robot has several operating modes: standard cleaning; targeted cleaning of the surface with an area of 1.8x1.8 m around the selected place; turbo mode for short-term inclusion; cleaning at a low noise level. By the way, with a fairly high power, the device already works quietly, and the last mode will completely allow you to keep busy while the vacuum cleaner is doing its job.

Two side brushes and the main brush-roller are responsible for collecting dust and debris, including from corners and along skirting boards. Moreover, the side brushes are retractable: when the robot sees an obstacle in its path, they hide inside to continue moving. Thanks to the AirClean Plus filter, fine dust remains in the dust container. By the way, its volume is 400 mL.

Navigation and battery life

With the help of two cameras and a dozen sensors, Miele Scout RX2 creates a high-resolution three-dimensional image of the object, calculates the distance to objects, does not crash into walls and furniture, does not fall off stairs, selects the exact route and compiles an interactive map of the room. As a result, even rooms with a complex layout will not become an obstacle to the device.

Thanks to the 2200 mAh battery, the battery life is up to 60 minutes. When the energy supply approaches the minimum mark, the robot returns to the base on its own, after which, having fully charged, it continues cleaning from the place where it stopped.

By the way, the model also has an older brother Miele Scout RX2 Home Vision, which has twice the battery and the ability to view images from the camera on a smartphone.
