— kaby Lake is an Intel processor microarchitecture introduced in 2016 as the successor to Skylake. Due to technical difficulties, the manufacturer, contrary to the Tick-Tock principle, did not reduce the technical process — Kaby Lake chips are built on the same 14 nm as the previous two generations. From the improvements introduced in this generation, we can highlight the built-in support for USB 3.1 gen2 (in Skylake this required separate controllers on the motherboard) and Thunderbolt 3, as well as a number of improvements in the graphic part.

It is also worth noting that this category includes both original Kaby Lake processors and high-end Kaby Lake-X, designed for workstations and other high-performance systems.
