DVI

— video output, used mainly for connecting monitors (in other video equipment, such a connector is quite rare). However, today you can meet both purely digital DVI-D and hybrid DVI-I. The latter also allows you to output an analogue video signal, and it is compatible with the VGA standard (see the relevant paragraph) — you only need a simple adapter. This can be useful for older monitors and even other video equipment like TVs. The digital version of this standard is capable of working with high image resolutions — Full HD and even higher; at the same time, it is possible to connect the DVI output to the HDMI input (also via an adapter), often even with sound transmission.
