Compact entry-level discrete graphics card with low power consumption (20 W), small-sized active cooling system and full support for ultra-high resolution monitors (nominally up to 3840x2160 at 60Hz). It is positioned as a model of the basic price category, focused on the use in multi-purpose household and office PCs with processors lacking an integrated video core. Thanks to its low-profile design and shortened PCB (150mm), MSI GT 1030 2GD4 LP OC can be successfully used in compact HTPC-class multimedia systems assembled in small-sized mini-ITX cases.
The Nvidia GP108 graphics processor (Pascal microarchitecture, 14 nm, 2017), working in conjunction with GDDR4 graphics memory (2 GB, 64-bit bus), is able to guarantee an acceptable frame rate in most popular game projects of 2010-2019 at resolutions up to 1920x1080 and low-medium/medium settings. To connect to the motherboard, a PCI-E Gen3 x16 connector is used (it normally works in x4 mode). The graphics card supports the function of hardware-accelerated decoding of FHD/UHD/4K multimedia content and works without problems with low-power low-cost power supplies.
