A relatively compact pre-top-end graphics card from MSI, based on the progressive NVIDIA Ada Lovelace graphics microarchitecture. It belongs to the upper part of the mid-price segment and is part of the universal VENTUS series, where the Taiwanese manufacturer MSI strives to provide an optimal balance between performance, dimensions and power consumption. It features a shortened printed circuit board (242 mm) and a proprietary TORX FAN 4.0 cooling system with two active fans, a reinforced metal plate and support for the completely silent Zero Frozr mode.

The power consumption of the model is quite modest by the standards of 2024 200 W, allowing the system to get by with a mid-range power supply with a power reserve of 600 - 650 W. The video card is based on the AD 104 graphics processor, built on the basis of the progressive NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture (5 nm) with an operating frequency of 2520 MHz. The memory buffer has a volume of 12 GB of GDDR6 with a clock frequency of 20000 MHz and a memory bus of 192 bits.

In terms of pure performance, the RTX 4070 outperforms the younger RTX 4050 and 4060 GPUs, but at the same time is inferior in performance to the top RTX 4080 and RTX 4090. It is mainly intended for gaming PCs with 2K monitors, providing a comfortable frame rate of over 60 fps in most gaming blockbusters of 2024 and games of previous years. Like all GPUs based on the Ada Lovelace microarchitecture, the MSI GeForce RTX 4070 VENTUS 2X E1 12G OC has support for the proprietary DLSS 3 performance enhancement complex, which includes an improved native resolution scaling system, a Reflex latency optimizer, and an exclusive AI frame generation system. When performance is lacking in supported games, using DLSS can provide a 2x FPS boost.
