MSI GeForce RTX 4070 VENTUS 2X E 12G OC
![]() | Expecting restock $852.88 A powerful and high-performance mid-range gaming graphics card from MSI, released in 2023. Despite its high cost, it occupies an intermediate role in the NVIDIA Ada Lovelace graphics accelerator hierarchy, surpassing the lower-end 50 and 60 series GPUs, but significantly lagging behind the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 monsters. It is mainly intended for gaming PCs with 2K monitors, and with DLSS enabled and reduced game settings, it can be used for 4K gaming. It can also assist with photo and video editing, montage, 3D modeling, and other resource-intensive tasks. The manufacturer positions it as an optimal replacement for NVIDIA GPUs from previous generations like the RTX 2060/2060 SUPER and earlier GTX 10XX and GTX 16XX series cards. The MSI GeForce RTX 4070 VENTUS 2X E 12G OC shares several fe...atures with its direct predecessor, the RTX 3070. Both GPUs have 5888 stream processors, 184 texture mapping units (TMU), 184 fourth-generation tensor cores, and 46 third-generation dedicated ray tracing cores. The next-generation cores provide better game lighting processing and more efficient frame rendering using neural networks, noticeably increasing the average frames per second in games. Meanwhile, the GPU clock speeds have increased from 1725 MHz to 2475 MHz, and the memory speed has accelerated from 14000 MHz to 21000 MHz, resulting in a nearly 1.5 times increase in gaming performance, matching the top model of the previous generation, the GeForce RTX 3080. In major AAA projects like Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Witcher 3 Remastered, it delivers a frame rate of at least 80 FPS at 1440p resolution with maximum graphics settings. It also has relatively low power consumption for its performance, at just 200 W, so the manufacturer recommends using a 650 W power supply for the entire build. |

Performance on par with previous generation flagships
The GeForce RTX 4070 is one of the most balanced and sought-after graphics cards in the Ada Lovelace lineup. It significantly outperforms lower-end models like the RTX 4050 and RTX 4060, delivering excellent performance in resource-intensive tasks including gaming, video rendering, and 3D modeling. In terms of performance, it’s comparable to previous-generation flagships like the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3090, but at a slightly lower price, consumes less power, and offers support for more modern technologies.
DLSS 3 support
One of the RTX 4070's key features is support for DLSS 3, a graphics enhancement system that includes a built-in upscaler and frame extrapolation, allowing it to generate additional frames and thus improve the smoothness of the gameplay. Without DLSS, the AD-104 GPU with 12GB of video memory handles most major games of recent years well at 1440p on maximum settings. For higher resolutions, DLSS becomes especially important, and some graphics settings may need to be lowered to medium.
A compact modification that fits into almost any case
There are many variants of the RTX 4070 on the market, and our choice fell on one of the most popular versions - MSI Ventus. This graphics card differs from the basic version of the RTX 4070 offered by NVIDIA: the PCB is 24 cm long, it takes up two motherboard slots, and for cooling there are two massive TORX FAN fans with support for silent mode. The power consumption of the model is 200 W, and in most cases a 600 W power supply is enough to operate it, although the manufacturer recommends choosing a model with a reserve of 650 W.
