— all varieties of Dolby Pro Logic II are tools for converting stereo sound (2.0, 2.1) to surround multichannel. However it is unlikely that it will be possible to achieve a full-fledged surround sound in this way — for example, dialogues go only to the central channel. At the same time, the original Dolby Pro Logic II works with 5.1 format. In IIx, the number of channels is increased to 7.1 (with the possibility of "pumping" 5.1 to eight-channel sound). And IIz allows you to add "vertical" speakers on the front channels to expand the sound in height (it is designed for acoustics 5.1 or 7.1 and audio signal from 2.0 to 7.1).
