— analogue interface for video signal transmission. Uses three separate wires, each carrying data on one of the three main components of the video signal. This made it possible to reduce the amount of distortion and, in the analogue format, to provide quality comparable to digital interfaces, as well as support for high-definition video. On the other hand, audio transmission via this interface is not carried out; it requires a separate connection. For connection, a cable with RCA connectors (“tulips”) is used.
