In the last couple of years, Gigabyte has followed the path of the Asus ROG gaming direction, starting the expansion of the gaming accessories market. Previously, mainly components (video cards, motherboards, etc.) were released under the brand flags, but now it has come to drives, monitors, keyboards and, finally, laptops. The first gaming laptop of the Aorus series was introduced in 2021 and, judging by press releases, Gigabyte has big plans for it.

This series of laptops is distinguished by a fast IPS screen with a frequency of 240 Hz and the usual Full HD resolution, which most players will prefer, as well as the absence of unnecessary Thunderbolt 3 interface and fingerprint scanner, which are present in another line of Gigabyte Aero gaming laptops. Instead, Aorus series laptops are focused on giving the player the most enjoyable gaming experience possible on a laptop.

For these purposes, Gigabyte attracted members of the well-known G2 Esports esports team, who tested laptops in the most combat conditions. Gigabyte claims that it was thanks to the criticism and advice of esports players that they focused all their attention on the cooling system, the convenience of the keyboard and the increased refresh rate of the display. For conventional screens, it is 60 Hz, for gaming 144 Hz, and for Gigabyte Aorus laptops — all 240 Hz.

In terms of hardware, these are absolutely top-end laptops, which is to be expected. The equipment of the average model includes an Intel Core i7 processor, GeForce RTX 3070/3080 graphics cards, a high-speed M.2 SSD and 16-32 GB of RAM. A few lines of laptops can boast of such equipment, Asus ROG Zephyrus, Acer Predator Triton, MSI Stealth and several models from Razer come to mind.
