Previously, inexpensive ultrabooks with a decent filling and metal met only on holidays, and the rest of the models cost from a thousand dollars, showing off their imaginary premium. Now, in the middle class, there is no crowding. Among the companies that have tried to break this way, Xiaomi with its Redmi sub-brand naturally turned out to be.

According to the company, a modern mid-range laptop should look like this: a performant filling, an ergonomic keyboard, a fingerprint scanner, backlighting of the keyboard and keys, up-to-date communication modules and a modern design with thin bezels, sleek lines and a lightweight body. And all this at a reasonable price. Only displays with a very limited colour reproduction, standard hertz and a low level of brightness can be called a victim of savings.

In other respects, the average RedmiBook looks solid in every respect: it is a small, sleek and light aluminium laptop that, in its minimalism and adherence to grey shades, resembles classic MacBooks. The same applies to quality: the cases are securely assembled, high-quality garnishes allow you to lift the lid with one hand, nothing backlashes or creaks. Only instead of the familiar apple on the lid, small “Redmi” and “Designed by Xiaomi” logos flaunt, hinting that the Chinese are no longer shy about their creations.

The Redmi family is slowly branching off into a separate laptop division, so an unprecedented diversity reigns in its ranks. The choice of the buyer are given options with 13, 14 and 16-inch displays. That is, you can meet here a fashionable ultrabook, a classic laptop, and even a gaming machine, because recently Redmi has been producing gaming laptops. It is also worth noting that the brand was one of the first laptop manufacturers to get off the needle of Intel, starting a promising partnership with AMD. Therefore, most models of 2020 are equipped with nimble six-core and eight-core Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 processors. At the same time, the standard check for the average RedmiBook is in the region of $1000.
