USB-C 3.1 gen2 port laptops
USB C 3.2 gen2
— laptops with at least one USB-C connector that supports USB 3.2 gen2 connectivity (previously known as USB-C 3.1 and USB-C 3.1 gen2).USB-C is relatively new type of USB connector; it differs from the classic USB A in significantly smaller size and double-sided design. The use of such inputs is generally similar — connecting peripherals and charging external gadgets. In addition, other interfaces besides USB can be implemented through these ports — in particular, USB-C is standard connector for connecting Thunderbolt v3 and v4 (for more details, see "USB-C (Alt Mode)"). And the USB 3.2 gen2 interface provides such connectors with connection speeds up to 10 Gbps. In addition, it is in the ports of this standard that the Power Delivery function is most often used (see "Multimedia"). At the same time, in laptops you can find USB-C inputs and an earlier version — 3.2 gen1; however, this variant is the most widely used. However, there are configurations equipped with both types of USB-C at the same time.
Note that the number of inputs of given type can be different; for added convenience, models with more than one USB-C 3.2 gen2 connector are moved to separate selection point. It is also worth mentioning that USB-C is rarely used as the only type of USB connector — they are usually installed in addition to the more traditional USB 3.2 gen1 or gen2 (see the relevant paragraphs).
