Alder Lake CPU computers
Intel Alder Lake (12th Gen)
— series of 12th generation Intel Core processors that entered the market at the end of 2021. It is built on new hybrid architecture that involves combination of two types of cores — high-performance Performance Cores based on the Golden Cove microarchitecture and energy-efficient Efficient Cores with Gracemont cores. They operate at different clock speeds and have different amounts of pre-installed cache memory. The joint work of the two new microarchitectures is provided by Intel Thread Director technology, which allows the computer operating system to place the right thread in specific core at the right time. Also, the processors of the Alder Lake generation got support for the PCI Express 5.0 interface (16 lanes) and DDR5 RAM. Desktops of the 12th generation are made under the LGA 1700 processor socket, they support Wi-Fi 6E and Thunderbolt 4.
