The representative of Samsung's 2024 gaming line, the Odyssey, is a monitor for gamers that, with a 32-inch diagonal and support for Quad HD resolution (2560x1440 pixels), falls into the mid-price segment. The model features a restrained gaming design and is notable for its ergonomic stand: it allows not only tilting but also swiveling the display, adjusting its height (range of 12 cm), and even switching from landscape to portrait orientation.
The Samsung Odyssey G50D 32 is based on an IPS panel with a refresh rate of 180 Hz, a color depth of 16.7 million shades, and fairly standard image parameters. For instance, the contrast does not exceed 1000:1, and the default brightness is 350 nits, but it can increase when displaying HDR content, which, among other things, confirms compliance with the DisplayHDR 400 standard.
Worth highlighting is the excellent color reproduction with coverage of 99% of the sRGB space. Specifically for gaming enthusiasts, there is a fast response time (1 ms gray-to-gray), support for current frame synchronization technologies, including AMD FreeSync (plus G-Sync compatibility), as well as other profile features such as Black Equalizer lightening, an on-screen crosshair, and more. To reduce eye fatigue during prolonged sessions, a mode with blue light filtering and Eye Saver flicker minimization is available.

I bought it in September and I absolutely love it. I'm a student and I use it as a second monitor for my laptop. It's perfect for watching YouTube videos and movies, as well as for programming. I also play games on it sometimes. Smooth image, ability to change orientation and rotation angle. Very easy to assemble. (not critical for me) fixed tilt angle. It also lacks speakers and only includes a DisplayPort cable; you need to buy an HDMI separately. This is critical if, like me, you own a laptop rather than a desktop PC.
