Canon's entry-level RF bayonet mirrorless camera equipped with a 24.1-megapixel APS-C image sensor. The model is aimed at beginner photo and video enthusiasts. It is assembled in a small case with dimensions of 116x86x69 mm. The "naked carcass" of the camera weighs about 356 g. Canon EOS R100 kit 18-45's signature feature is the Dual Pixel CMOS AF autofocus system with intelligent recognition of objects in the frame.

The model uses a mechanical shutter with a rear curtain, which imposes certain restrictions on the speed of continuous photography: with tracking autofocus it is 3.5 fps, with single-frame - 6.5 fps. Ergonomics also gives out the budget “breed” of the camera - the mirrorless camera is equipped with a fixed screen without touch control support and only one control ring on the upper end of the case.

Fortunately, there was a place in it for the electronic viewfinder window. The camera records video materials in Full HD resolution (1920x1080 fps) at 60 fps from the entire plane of the matrix and in 4K frame format (3840x2160 pixels) at 25 fps with image crop and autofocus based on contrast only. Wireless communications on board the camera are represented by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules. The mirrorless lens comes with Canon RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM universal zoom lens.
