Pretty "fancy" SLR camera. Having replaced the Mark II model, it has acquired both improved characteristics and a number of interesting design solutions. Of the latter, we can note 61-point autofocus, a Creative Photo button, a silent shutter mode and a headphone jack that allows you to monitor sound when shooting video. Of the characteristics, it is worth highlighting the new fast DIGIC 5+ processor, which provides burst shooting speeds up to 6 fps, a 22.3 megapixel full-frame matrix with ISO 50-102400.

Yes, the shortcomings of the M2 have been improved, but tracking autofocus for video is not implemented, so there is no practical application for wedding video. In short, they promised a cool camera, I fell for it and bought this wonder as a second body alongside my Sony a850, thinking of switching to Canon later, but I'm too used to Sony! The color is [censored], autofocus is [censored] slow, inconvenient menu, operation freezes. I returned it while still under warranty, maybe the new owner will like it more))) and I decided to try the Sony a99, it should have better autofocus (a friend's a77 even has better autofocus than the third 5D I had), and the colors are great, with an amazing dynamic range that handles highlights and shadows well. If I don't like the translucent mirror (although my friend's a77 has a great system), I'll get a Nikon D600 or D800, and use two systems. I'm never going back to Canon! Canon cameras without Photoshop are junk! Better autofocus than the previous five series. 22 MP. Video. Supposedly low noise at high ISO. Here is just the thing about low noise at high ISO - it would be better if it had more noise but with colors like Nikon or Sony! The autofocus is dumb anyway, noticeably worse than Nikon/Sony if you take their FF. No dynamic range - if there is even a slight underexposure or overexposure - the photos are ruined, can't be saved!  Foxer: use Canon EOS 5D Mark III body few months i recommend it don't buy |
Nobody / 11-07-2012 22:49 I used to love the 24-105, then I switched to the 24-70 and now I regret it. For almost a year now, I've been struggling with this issue. I'm seriously considering selling the 24-70 and buying the 24-105 back. The 24-70 is noticeably heavier, I'm constantly missing the focal lengths, meaning it's not universal enough. Of course, the aperture is a plus, but the 24-105 has stabilization. Absolutely incompetent post by Nobody. The 24-70 is a head above the 24-105 in almost all characteristics, except for weight. I consider the 280g weight difference non-critical since you have to pay for quality. 1) Lens aperture - this is clear. Night and day. 2) The build quality of the 24-105 is incomparably worse than that of the 24-70. I write this as a repair technician. In 5 years, I've only had the 24-70 in for repair once, and that was after a fall. The 24-105 constantly has issues with ribbon cables. There are other design flaws too. 3) An important nuance: photographing with the 24-70 without a stabilizer gives a better result than with the 24-105 with a stabilizer! Reasonable question: why is it even needed there? We'll leave that to the conscience of Canon developers. 4) The difference between 70 and 105 isn't all that critical. And if you're shooting with a 5D Mark III, you can easily crop the needed scene when printing or using Photoshop. Fortunately, there are plenty of pixels!
