MicroUSB to Lightning

— accessory with a microUSB connector on one side and a Lightning connector on the other.

MicroUSB is one of the most popular universal connectors for portable gadgets; only recently has it gradually been displaced by the more advanced USB-C. Lightning, on the other hand, is the universal proprietary connector for Apple's pocket-sized hardware (since 2012). In fact, most accessories of this type are adapters for connecting accessories with a microUSB connector to Apple devices, and therefore have a microUSB socket on one side and a Lightning plug on the other. However, there are also cables with plugs on both sides. These are used to connect Apple gadgets to various external devices with microUSB inputs; examples of such devices include some ultra-compact laptops and advanced digital-analog converters to improve the quality of sound playback.
