— the presence in the cable (usually in the cable, see "Type") of a connector with magnetic fixation. In such a connector, the connector (the part of the plug that is directly inserted into the jack when connected) is made removable and held on the cable by a permanent magnet. A similar function is found mainly in cables for mobile gadgets, and the magnet is installed on the side of the connection to the gadget. Thanks to this design, the connector can be kept in the socket all the time, and the cable can be “sticked” to it only while charging or connecting to a PC. It is more convenient, more practical and safer than inserting and removing the plug every time in the usual way: the plug wears out less and lasts longer, the “plug” in the form of a connector protects it from contamination, and with a strong jerk, the connected cable can be easily disconnected, preventing damage and falling. The main disadvantage of magnetic connectors is the increased cost; in addition, it can be difficult to remove the connector from the socket — this usually requires the “pick” supplied in the kit or another similar device.
