SteelSeries is one of the leading manufacturers of esports peripherals. To once again confirm this status, in 2021, the Danish brand released a new flagship series of Prime mice, which was developed by more than a hundred esports players from different disciplines. SteelSeries says that they received wonderful feedback, which helped the company's engineers to hone the sensor, refine the shape of the case and reduce the weight to 69-72 grams. Plus, the Prime mice were equipped with durable, but soft, Super Mesh cables made of microfibre.

However, the most important innovation of the Prime series is that these mice are equipped with new Optical Magnetic switches with a magnetic core and a safety margin of 100 million. These switches use neodymium magnets and an infrared light beam, which together provide lightning-fast response time without delays, jerks and failures. Because of this, the click sound has also changed, which has become brighter and more distinct in comparison with traditional mechanical switches. Although this is more of a taste.

At the time of writing this material (August 2021) SteelSeries introduced three versions of the Prime manipulator: the "regular" Prime, the Prime+ model with a pumped optical sensor and the wireless Prime Wireless with a lag-free connection. All of them use top branded TrueMove Pro sensors and are equipped with RGB backlight with impressive customization capabilities.
