— a specialized port that is used only for connecting keyboards and mice. Due to its large size, it was originally used mainly in desktop PCs and was almost never used in laptops and other compact equipment; and is now considered obsolete and is gradually falling into disuse. Thus, this interface is extremely rarely used for mice in its pure form — most models from this category are USB devices with PS/2 adapters included. However, if the computer has the appropriate connector, PS/2 is often the best way to connect. The fact is that such a connection allows you not to occupy a USB connector, which can be useful for other peripherals.
