A key distinguishing feature of the device is the Prestige OM switches based on magneto-optical technology. They are immune to physical contact wear and provide instant click registration without delays for debouncing, maintaining clear actuation even after 100 million presses.

The precision of movements is ensured by an advanced dual-sensor system developed in collaboration with PixArt. The wired SteelSeries Prime+ computer mouse is equipped with the primary TrueMove Pro+ sensor with a resolution of 18000 DPI that withstands up to 50G accelerations, and an additional depth sensor. The latter allows flexible adjustment of the lift-off distance in the range of 0.5–2 mm, ensuring stability of aim during frequent repositioning of the mouse over the pad. For quick parameter adjustments without software installation, an OLED display is provided on the bottom panel, showing current sensitivity and polling rate values. The 71 g body has an ergonomic shape with a grip-friendly matte finish, designed for right-handers with a claw or fingertip grip, and connection to a PC is provided by a detachable soft braided cable.
